Unraveling Intent

My recent layered wood paintings explore the imbalance in our relationship with the environment, underscoring the limitations of current approaches toward stewardship. The nets attempt to contain or control elements of the environment, but with oversized openings, they imply the inadequacy of these efforts. The ladders portray human entrance into sacred spaces and provoke contemplation about the ethical implications and potential consequences of our intrusion. These works invite reflection about pressing environmental challenges and the importance of finding a sustainable and harmonious approach to coexistence.
